Caring for Real Hair Extensions

To avoid tangling at night, a satin pillow cloth is recommended. Wearing the extensions in pony tail or braid at night if they are extremely long will help keep them from tangling and weakening the bonds. Use a wire loop brush and always brush working from the ends up to reduce breaking and pulling.

Caring for real hair extensions which are sewn in or attached when showering is similar to taking care of your own hair with a few exceptions. For hair which has been extensively colored or permed additional care will be required. Ensuring that hair products don't disintegrate the attachment method is vital.

Silicone drops are sometimes used on hair extensions to prevent tangling and add gloss, particularly on hair that has been heavily treated. This may wear off after a few washings resulting in frizzy, virgin remy full lace wigs, dry ends. Adding a few drops may help extend the life of these hair extensions and keep them from matting. The quality of human hair used for the extensions will make a huge difference in their appearance and how long they last. Always purchase the best real hair extensions that you are able to afford for the best results.

If blow dryers are used to dry hair extensions use a gentle heat and stop drying when the hair is approximately 90 percent dry. This is especially important for hair which has been lightened or permed as it will be more fragile and the heat may cause it to break.

Shampooing requires a cleansing shampoo that will remove buildup and clean the scalp without stripping the hair. Using a moisturizing shampoo in a cream formula is one alternative, although there are many excellent shampoos available. Begin by wetting the hair and scalp thoroughly, then placing a small amount of shampoo in the palm. Massage the scalp first, and then gently cleanse the hair without tangling it. Rinse thoroughly, if necessary a second application may be used but often once is enough unless a large amount of hair product is used.

Condition the real hair extensions in the opposite manner, cheap lace front wigs, concentrating on the ends and top which are more exposed to sun and damage. Try to avoid getting much conditioner near the area where the hair is attached as it may weaken the bonds and can be difficult to rinse thoroughly. Leave the conditioner on for the recommended length of time and rinse.

In general it is not advised to color or perm extensions, cheap straight full lace wigs, rather they should be purchased in the color and texture desired. Occasional use of a rinse which washes out with the next shampoo does not usually damage the extensions, celebrity wigs online, although uneven coloring may result especially if the ends are damaged. Discussing color options with a salon stylist would be recommended as damage could occur when doing any home coloring. If extensions are glued on or woven, natural hair should be colored prior to attachment.

When using any hot appliances such as curling irons and hair straighteners the use of a thermal protectant is recommended to help minimize damage to the hair extensions. Keep excessive heat away from the area where human hair extensions are attached as the glue will soften, possibly resulting in extension loss.
